Updating Your Wardrobe for the Spring Season

New seasons mean that you have to change your wardrobe in order to dress appropriately. While you might have clothes from last year that you can wear again this year, you might also want to update your wardrobe to get some new items.

Look at what’s in this season

Buy some fashion magazines and have a look at the colours and styles which seem to be most prominent. This will help you to discover what is on trend this year, providing of course that you do want to follow the current trends and fashion.

You can also watch fashion shows and catwalk models to see what they are wearing. While a lot of the clothes they wear are purely for show, you can get a good idea of colours and trends which will be appearing soon.

Measure yourself again to find your current size

You may have gained or lost weight since last year, or maybe you’ve built some muscle or changed body shape slightly. Don’t be alarmed if you suddenly don’t fit your favourite dress, or if the thin cardigan you loved last year seems to be hanging off you this time around.

If you have something that you really love, you can always get it altered, but be prepared to try different sizes when shopping for new clothes.

Buy clothes in layers

You can buy long sleeve t-shirts online which are great for wearing in the spring, and you can even wear these throughout the other seasons too.

Thin cardigans and jumpers are great for the spring too, and remember that there’s still a chance of rain at this time of year, so a good raincoat won’t go amiss either.

Try something new

No matter how old you are, don’t be afraid to try something new when it comes to fashion. This doesn’t necessarily mean copying everybody else and wearing what’s currently on trend.

You can experiment with your own styles and sense of fashion. You might discover that something really suits you, and it’ll become your new go-to outfit for the spring months.

Accessorise!

You don’t have to buy an entirely new wardrobe every single year. If you want to mix things up a bit, just buy some new accessories instead.

A more colourful handbag, a matching necklace or a couple of bracelets to add a touch of colour to your outfit. Chiffon and silk scarves are a great accessory for the spring time too, since it’s not too hot that you’ll sweat with one on but it’s warm enough to not need a woollen one.

Pick the patterns

Winter is all about blacks, navy blues, greys and browns, but when Spring finally comes around, it’s time to ditch those in favour of something a little more colourful. Choose a patterned skirt and pair it with a dark top from your winter wardrobe, and you’ll create the perfect contrast that is ideal for the men’s fashion season.
